Job Description

The lessons children learn often fade. The adults who believed in them never do. This role is about being that adult.

Alpha students finish their academic work in only two hours each day through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate themselves to the work that transforms lives: developing confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your day won't involve standing at the front of a classroom delivering instruction. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, celebrate their victories, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with unwavering support.

You'll oversee a single K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time is devoted to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half involves coaching students both individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Each interaction carries weight. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously believed.

This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver prepared curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. It's intended for someone who is passionate about motivating young learners, values measurable progress, and trusts that the right coach can alter a child's path. If you've inspired children as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, you'll discover a distinctly different kind of classroom environment here.

This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campus locations. We conduct nationwide recruitment, so job postings may appear in nearby cities that do not currently host a campus.

Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

If you're interested in another Alpha campus, apply anyway and tell us your preferred location—we'll consider you for the appropriate opening.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students toward mastery of communication, concentration, feedback, and other enduring skills through active engagement rather than passive instruction.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child advances toward ambitious weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life-skill development using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, continuing to coach students until they show genuine comprehension—not merely attendance.
  • Modify your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, movement, and narratives for younger students or emphasizing greater independence and responsibility for older learners.
  • Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push past perceived limitations and reach for what they once considered impossible.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering academic instruction from a whiteboard. Students complete academics using adaptive software.
  • Creating curriculum materials from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons independently.
  • Supervising students as they work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and personal connection.
  • Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Success is achieved by helping students meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.
  • Coordinating homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent communication.

Kindergarten Teacher Key Responsibilities

Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, reliably meet ambitious learning objectives, and acquire the life skills that position them for long-term success beyond elementary school.

Basic Requirements

  • Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
  • A track record of motivating young children to achieve challenging goals, with specific examples of your impact.
  • Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing your own energy on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
  • The ability to balance warmth with unwavering expectations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
  • Personal experience achieving ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or your career.
  • Outstanding storytelling or performance skills that naturally capture the attention of young children.
  • Evidence of helping reluctant or shy children become confident, engaged participants.
