Job Description

Young children don't retain every lesson. They do retain the memory of an adult who truly believed in their potential. This defines your purpose.

Alpha students complete their academic work in only two hours each day through adaptive learning platforms. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their energy to the work that transforms outcomes: nurturing confidence, resilience, strong communication, and a willingness to embrace difficult challenges. Your day will not involve standing before a classroom delivering traditional instruction. Instead, you will coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and demonstrate how rigorous standards coexist with authentic support.

You will oversee one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Approximately half of your time is devoted to facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on foundational life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The remainder involves individualized and small-group coaching, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child advances toward challenging weekly targets. Every moment of engagement counts. Students should emerge from your workshops with expanded capabilities and from your coaching sessions with stronger belief in their own potential.

This position is not suited for someone seeking to execute a set curriculum or maintain conventional classroom management. It is designed for someone who is energized by motivating young learners, values data-driven progress, and understands that effective coaching can fundamentally alter a child's path. If you have motivated children as an educator, coach, camp counselor, youth program leader, or performer, you will encounter a distinctly different educational environment here.

This is a full-time, on-site position at an Alpha campus. We conduct national recruitment, so job postings may appear in neighboring cities where we do not currently operate campuses.

Current vacancies at this compensation level are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

If your preference is a different Alpha campus, submit your application and indicate your desired location—we will review you for the corresponding opportunity.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other enduring competencies through hands-on engagement rather than passive listening.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly learning objectives.
  • Evaluate life-skill acquisition using Alpha's Test2Pass model, guiding students until they exhibit genuine comprehension—not simply attendance.
  • Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, physical activity, and narrative techniques for younger students or emphasizing greater autonomy and responsibility for older learners.
  • Cultivate relationships in which students feel secure enough to attempt achievements beyond their perceived limits.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering academic instruction from the front of the classroom. Students complete academics via adaptive technology.
  • Developing curriculum materials independently. You will refine and customize established playbooks rather than creating lessons from the ground up.
  • Supervising students as they silently engage with computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and interpersonal connection.
  • Reducing expectations in response to difficulty. Progress is achieved by supporting students to meet the standard, not by lowering the standard.
  • Administering homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

Elementary School Teacher Key Responsibilities

Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are enthusiastic about attending school, regularly meet ambitious learning objectives, and acquire the life skills necessary to succeed well beyond their elementary years.

Basic Requirements

  • Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
  • A track record of motivating young children to achieve challenging goals, with specific examples of your impact.
  • Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing your own energy on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
  • The ability to balance warmth with unwavering expectations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
  • Personal experience achieving ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or your career.
  • Outstanding storytelling or performance skills that naturally capture the attention of young children.
  • Evidence of helping reluctant or shy children become confident, engaged participants.
