Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Associate Professor to join the Department of Media and Communication at the Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS). The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Media and Communication from an HEC-recognized institution and possesses a minimum of five years of relevant academic experience. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring students through research projects, and actively engaging in curriculum development to ensure the program meets academic standards and industry needs. The Associate Professor contributes significantly to the department's research output and participates in various academic activities aimed at fostering a vibrant learning environment.
In this position, the Associate Professor does not manage a team but works collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the educational and research excellence of the institute. The candidate is expected to present research at academic conferences and employ sound research methodologies, supporting the academic growth of students and the institution. The role demands a strong commitment to academic rigor, continuous professional development, and adherence to the policies set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for eligibility and academic quality.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in media and communication with clarity and engagement.
- Supervise student research projects, providing guidance and feedback to ensure academic rigor and timely completion.
- Contribute to the design, review, and updating of curriculum to align with current academic and industry standards.
- Conduct original research and prepare papers for presentation at national and international academic conferences.
- Apply advanced research methodologies in both teaching and scholarly activities to foster critical thinking and analytical skills among students.
- Engage in departmental meetings and academic committees to support the continuous improvement of programs and departmental goals.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of media and communication and integrate relevant insights into teaching and research.
- Collaborate with academic peers within and beyond the department to promote interdisciplinary research and academic initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and academic support to students to facilitate their academic and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all university and Higher Education Commission policies and standards relating to teaching and research.
