This role is pivotal in developing scalable, accessible, and innovative cloud\-based applications that support our banking operations and digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, testing, debugging, and maintaining cloud\-native applications, primarily leveraging AWS cloud services. You will work closely with cross\-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting\-edge cloud technology projects, migrate existing applications to the cloud, and build new cloud\-native solutions that drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. **Qualifications** * Typically 5\+ years of experience in web technologies, IT, or related business environments, with a strong background in software development. * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, mathematics, or a related field. * Exceptional proficiency in Java and web backend development. * Minimum of 3\+ years hands\-on experience with AWS cloud services such as ECR, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, IAM roles, and Redis Cache. * Experience working with RESTful APIs, message queues like MQ/Kafka, and SQL databases. * Strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools. * Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Jasmine. * Proven ability to develop large, complex software systems. * Deep knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technologies. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within teams. * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and decision\-making skills. * Ability to work independently, handle non\-routine situations, and take measured risks aligned with risk management frameworks. **Responsibilities** * Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud\-native applications using modern Java and cloud technologies. * Configure and implement cloud solutions that address specific business needs and optimize performance. * Support the migration of existing applications to the cloud environment, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency. * Develop and maintain infrastructure for cloud\-based platforms, ensuring security, reliability, and compliance. * Create and implement strategies to enhance the performance and scalability of cloud applications. * Establish and manage development environments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. * Translate user requirements into technical specifications, facilitating effective communication between technical and non\-technical stakeholders. * Work independently on complex projects, proactively identifying and resolving issues. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives. * Adhere to risk management frameworks, making informed decisions to protect the organization’s assets and reputation. **Benefits** At BMO Financial Group, we offer a comprehensive compensation package that recognizes your skills and contributions.
