Private Equity Firm

in

Dubai

who are seeking a

Senior Accountant

to support the Finance Department by handling both operational and reporting responsibilities for their group entities.

The Senior Accountant will assume full responsibility for the financial accounting and reporting of the Middle East entities, including month‑end close, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and other tax compliance, and coordination of statutory audits.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wishes to supervise entities under IFRS from A to Z.

Responsibilities:

  • Take end‑to‑end responsibility for a portfolio of Middle East entities, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping, cashbook entries, expenses and payroll recording, and posting of all required month‑end transactions (accruals, deferred charges, interest, loans, FX, etc.).
  • Review accounting entries and provide day‑to‑day supervision, guidance and review of work performed by more junior colleagues (including those based in other locations).
  • Perform balance sheet and P\&L reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations with foreign group entities, as well as bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual accounts mappings, interim solvency statements and support the year‑end process, including assessment of impairments of investments in cooperation with the Group finance team.
  • Prepare reporting deliverables in line with group deadlines and instructions.
  • Analyse legal documentation (sale and purchase agreements, loan agreements, intra‑group arrangements, management fee agreements, etc.) to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Work closely with external and internal auditors, acting as the key local point of contact for audit queries related to the Middle East entities.
  • Prepare VAT and other indirect tax returns (monthly, quarterly and annual) and support follow‑up with local tax advisers/authorities where required.
  • Assist with the preparation of other regulatory and statistical returns applicable in the region.
  • Set up and review local and international payments in various e‑banking platforms, ensuring adequate controls and approvals.

Requirements to apply:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is a must.
  • ACCA, CPA, CA is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant accounting experience, within Private Equity, Family Office, Investment Banking or multi-entity environments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • You must have strong Excel skills and experience with NetSuite is advantageous.
  • A pro-active and team-oriented attitude, with a positive and open-minded approach.
  • High attention to detail is key.
