Our client Recruit AI is looking for a Senior Accountant \- Canadian Accounting Specialist in Islamabad Recruit AI is seeking a highly skilled and detail\-oriented Senior Accountant specializing in Canadian accounting principles to manage full\-cycle accounting operations with minimal supervision. This full\-time remote position based in Islamabad requires an experienced professional with at least five years of progressive accounting experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in financial reporting, bookkeeping review, reconciliations, payroll processing, sales tax compliance, and closing activities for month\-end and year\-end periods. The role demands a proactive individual who can independently handle client deliverables, review accounting work for accuracy, analyze financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing and reviewing comprehensive financial statements, and ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting and tax regulations. They coordinate timely submission of statutory filings including sales tax returns and support audits, financial reviews, and tax preparations as needed. The position emphasizes strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and professional communication with clients to maintain robust relationships. While the role does not involve managing a team, it requires excellent time and deadline management abilities to handle multiple client entities simultaneously and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. **Responsibilities** * Manage and oversee full\-cycle accounting processes for assigned clients and entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. * Review bookkeeping transactions meticulously to verify completeness and adherence to accounting policies. * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring correctness and reliability. * Perform thorough bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations to guarantee financial data integrity. * Coordinate month\-end and year\-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting cycles. * Process and review payroll according to regulatory requirements while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and policies. * Prepare and file sales tax returns and other required statutory filings in compliance with Canadian regulations. * Analyze financial data and reports to detect discrepancies, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions promptly. * Maintain organized and precise accounting records along with appropriate supporting documentation. * Communicate professionally and regularly with clients regarding financial matters, reporting obligations, and outstanding accounting issues. * Support audit preparation, financial reviews, and tax filing activities by providing accurate documentation and explanations. * Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines and ensuring high\-quality deliverables. * Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline accounting workflows, improve accuracy, and increase operational efficiency. * Utilize QuickBooks Online and other cloud\-based accounting software such as Xero or Sage to enhance accounting processes and client service.
