Job Description
The client is a government‑linked organisation focused on strategic investment and long‑term economic development.
In this role you will be responsible for managing legal risks across the organisation, including all functions, group projects, investments, assets, and portfolio companies. It involves acting as a legal advisor, providing sound legal guidance across a broad range of legal disciplines, and ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assist the GC and legal team in developing and maintaining the legal framework and ensuring high‑quality legal support across the organisation and its portfolio companies
- Contribute to identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risk
- Support the creation and rollout of legal policies and procedures aligned with commercial and customer commitment
- Proactively identify legal issues and drive initiatives to reduce and manage legal risk
- Keep the corporate register accurate and up to date
- Draft, review, and amend contracts related to investments, procurement, services, assets, and employment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirement
- Establish adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and international best‑practice standard
- Manage legal and regulatory advice to minimise financial, legal, and reputational exposure
- Assist the GC and the team in litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceeding
- Stay updated on new laws and regulatory developments affecting the organisation
- Draft and update standard templates for frequently used documents
- Ensure the legal document library is current and compliant with internal processes
- Work with legal and risk colleagues to provide regulatory support on non‑legal risk matter
- Keep abreast of new laws and regulations through ongoing legal training
- Identify opportunities to contribute to change initiatives, programmes, and projects using best practice standards
What you'll need to succ eed
- At least 3 years of legal experience gained from a reputable/recognised law firm and a proven background in general corporate and commercial
- Bachelor’s and Masters’s Degree from a recognised/reputable university in law
- Active membership from a recognized legal associate or regulatory body
- Fluent in English, with Arabic language skills desirable
- Middle Eastern experience
