Job Description
Stacey Danley at Aplin has partnered with our Manitoba\-based client on the search for the newly created role of In\-House Counsel. Reporting to the Head of Legal \& Compliance, this role offers a broad and engaging practice supporting senior leadership and key business functions across the organization.

**Responsibilities:**
* Provide practical, strategic legal advice to executive leadership, including the CEO, CFO, and senior management team, as well as the Board of Directors
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements, including vendor, service, land, and easement\-related contracts
* Support corporate transactions and initiatives, including collaboration with external counsel on M\&A and integration activities
* Advise on compliance, governance, and risk mitigation, including development and maintenance of corporate policies
* Oversee corporate insurance matters, including coverage, claims, and risk tracking
* Manage and maintain corporate records, including resolutions, minute books, and key legal documentation
* Conduct legal research and provide timely opinions on a variety of business matters
* Partner cross\-functionally with internal stakeholders including finance, operations, and corporate affairs to support business objectives
* Assist with regulatory, contractual, and operational matters, including construction\-related incidents, land acquisitions, and stakeholder agreements
* Support trademark applications, tracking, and broader intellectual property considerations
**Qualifications:**
* Member in good standing with the Law Society of Manitoba (or eligible for immediate call)
* Demonstrated experience in corporate/commercial law, ideally within an in\-house or sophisticated private practice environment
* Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills
* Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
* Business\-minded approach with sound judgment and a practical, solutions\-oriented style
* Telecommunications or regulated industry experience is considered an asset
**Location:**
Preference will be given to candidates based in Manitoba; however, remote flexibility is available for the right individual.
