Job Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead human resources strategy and daily people operations for a full\-service hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position serves as a visible partner to property leadership, helping create a workplace culture that supports engagement, accountability, and long\-term growth. The role combines strategic guidance with hands\-on support across employee relations, talent development, compliance, and manager coaching in a fast\-paced hospitality setting.
Responsibilities:
• Guide hotel leaders on employee relations matters, helping address performance concerns, workplace conflicts, and other personnel issues with sound judgment and consistency.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and operational leaders to align HR practices with business needs and day\-to\-day hotel activity.
• Foster an inclusive, high\-performance culture by leading initiatives focused on engagement, retention, recognition, and career progression.
• Maintain an active presence across the property to build trust with employees and provide timely support to managers and team members.
• Oversee HR administration and support key people processes, including policy interpretation, compliance practices, and employee communications.
• Act as the primary resource for Paylocity, providing training and guidance so managers and employees can use the system effectively.
• Respond to payroll\-related inquiries by coordinating with the appropriate internal partners to ensure questions are resolved accurately and promptly.
• Use knowledge of the Charlotte workforce landscape to support staffing strategies, employee retention efforts, and broader talent planning decisions.
• Lead and develop the onsite HR team member while maintaining strong collaboration with corporate HR leadership.
• At least 3 years of experience in an HR leadership or director role.
• Background in hospitality is strongly preferred, particularly within hotel operations.
• Proven success handling employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and workplace culture initiatives.
• Familiarity with HR systems is required, and experience with Paylocity is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of HR compliance, benefits administration, and compensation practices.
• Knowledge of labor market trends and workforce dynamics in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
• Ability to work onsite and remain highly visible and accessible within a fast\-moving hotel environment.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic HR leadership with hands\-on execution and daily operational support.
