Job Description
We are looking for a vibrant, expressive, and versatile voice actor to bring our children‑oriented content to life. Whether it’s an animated series, an educational app, a storybook podcast, or a playful commercial, your voice will be the key to capturing young imaginations and creating a warm, engaging experience. The ideal candidate has a naturally appealing voice for children (clear, energetic, friendly) and the ability to deliver authentic emotions that resonate with kids of specific age groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret Creative Briefs:
Collaborate with directors, writers, and producers to understand the project’s tone (e.g., playful, soothing, adventurous), target age range (toddlers, early schoolers, tweens), and technical requirements (file format, length, turnaround time).
- Script Analysis \& Character Development:
Thoroughly read scripts to grasp character personalities, narrative arcs, or educational goals. Mark up scripts for emphasis, pacing, and emotional cues.
- Professional Recording:
Deliver high‑quality recordings in a studio or a home setup with broadcast‑grade equipment (condenser microphone, audio interface, pop filter, acoustically treated space). Ensure clean audio with low noise floor and consistent levels.
- Voice Acting \& Direction:
Perform multiple takes and variations as needed. Be open to direction and able to adjust quickly—for example, shifting from a cheerful narrator to a silly monster or a gentle teacher.
- Basic Audio Editing (if required):
Remove breaths, clicks, or minor errors; deliver final files in specified formats (WAV, MP3, AIFF) with proper naming conventions.
- Timely Delivery:
Meet agreed deadlines and communicate proactively if any issues arise.
Qualifications \& Requirements
- Proven Experience:
Minimum 1‑2 years of professional voiceover work, with a portfolio/demo reel showcasing children’s content (animation, audiobooks, e‑learning, video games, or commercials).
- Vocal Range:
Ability to produce age‑appropriate voices—from cute and bubbly to calm and reassuring—while maintaining good diction and articulation.
- Technical Proficiency:
Comfortable with DAWs (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Audacity) and remote recording/coordination tools (Source‑Connect, Zoom, etc.).
- Language Skills:
Native or near‑native fluency in English (or the required language); additional languages are a plus.
- Flexibility:
Willingness to take direction, re‑record lines, and adapt to creative changes.
- Home Studio Setup:
For remote work, you must have a quiet, treated space, a professional microphone, interface, headphones, and a reliable internet connection.
Preferred Skills (Nice‑to‑Have)
- Experience with character voice creation and improvisation.
- Understanding of child psychology / age‑appropriate language and pacing.
- Familiarity with ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) or lip‑sync for animation.
- Basic sound design or editing skills beyond simple cleanup.
- Previous work with educational or interactive media (e‑learning, voice‑controlled toys, apps).
