Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire an Accounting professional focused on managing and reviewing grant expenses during closeout. You’ll be making sure all costs are properly documented, compliant with federal guidelines, and aligned to budget. The role also involves working directly with partners to collect missing documentation, coding expenses in NetSuite, and tracking spend to ensure everything stays on pace and audit ready. It’s a mix of detailed financial review and strong communication with non-finance teams.

  • This is a 9 month contact

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and validate expense reports and invoices to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and approved budgets
  • Identify and flag non-compliant or unsupported expenses and drive resolution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, collecting missing documentation and guiding them through requirements
  • Code and enter approved expenses in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and proper alignment to budget structures
  • Reconcile transactions against supporting documentation and maintain clean financial records
  • Provide guidance on allowable costs throughout the spend period to ensure ongoing compliance - Track spend against budgets and flag variances or pacing concerns early
  • Maintain reporting and trackers to give leadership visibility into financial status
  • Identify potential compliance risks or documentation gaps prior to audit
  • Apply knowledge of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) to evaluate allowability, allocability, and reasonableness of costs submitted.

Required Skills \& Experience

  • 3+ years of accounting or financial operations experience, with direct exposure to federal grant accounting or nonprofit fund accounting.
  • Working knowledge of 2 CFR 200 / Uniform Guidance cost principles, including allowability and documentation standards.
  • Proficiency with Oracle NetSuite or comparable mid-market ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of transactions across multiple budget structures simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with external stakeholders who are not finance professionals.

Nice to Have Skills \& Experience

  • Prior experience supporting federal grant closeout or subrecipient monitoring.
  • Familiarity with EDA, HHS, DOL, or similar federal agency grant programs.
  • Experience in a nonprofit membership association or mission-driven organization.
