Job Description
The Opportunity:
The Vice President – Human Resources will be the most senior HR leader on the ground at the Company’s India GCC. Reporting directly to the CxO at the US headquarters, this role is the face of HR for the India site — responsible for the full people agenda, culture-building, and employee experience in a new and rapidly growing environment.
The Company's US HR team operates a well-resourced Center of Excellence (COE) covering HRIS, payroll, policy frameworks, performance management, compensation design, benefits administration, and talent acquisition. The VP – HR will be the local execution and leadership partner for all of these globally driven programs, ensuring seamless India-side delivery and acting as a trusted bridge between the US headquarters and the India team.
In addition to the core HR mandate, the executive will provide leadership, accountability, and strategic direction to the Facilities \& Administration function — ensuring the India GCC's physical environment and operations meet the standards of a world-class technology company.
Key Responsibilities:
Core: Human Resources Leadership
- Serve as the strategic HR business partner to the India GCC leadership team, advising on all people-related matters from Day 1
- Own and manage the full employee lifecycle for India — onboarding, engagement, performance management, career development, retention, and exits
- Drive a high-performance, inclusive culture that reflects the company's values and supports the India GCC's mission as a strategic global hub
- Serve as the primary escalation point for employee relations matters; ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution
- Collaborate closely with the US HR COE to localize and execute programs across HRIS, payroll, compensation cycles, benefits, and performance reviews
- Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory regulations, and employment best practices
- Partner with US HR and GCC leadership on workforce planning, headcount strategy, and talent pipeline development
- Build the company's employer brand in India — contributing to EVP development, campus outreach, and positioning as a destination employer in the technology space
- Leverage people analytics and HR data to provide meaningful insights to leadership on attrition, engagement, productivity, and team health
Additional: Oversight of Facilities \& Administration
- Provide senior leadership and accountability over the India GCC's Facilities and Administration functions — setting direction and standards, not managing day-to-day execution
- Mentor and hold accountable the existing Facilities Manager, elevating the quality and professionalism of site operations
- Ensure the physical work environment — workspace design, infrastructure, safety, and operational readiness — is aligned with global company standards and supports a technology-driven workforce
- Oversee vendor management, administrative services, travel coordination, and business continuity frameworks at a governance level
Ideal Candidate Profile
Background \& Experience
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership; minimum 5 years at VP or Senior Director level with full HRBP and operational ownership
- MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Capability in all major HR disciplines including, but not limited to, talent management, succession planning, organizational design, recruiting, compensation, learning and development, and employee relations
- Experience in the IT, technology, data analytics, software, or tech-enabled services industry strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in board-level interactions and corporate brand representation.
- Demonstrated exposure to US-headquartered or US-facing organizations — comfortable navigating cross-border stakeholder relationships, US work culture, and global HR processes
- Prior experience in a GCC, captive center, or India-based operations of a global MNC is highly desirable
- Familiarity with or oversight of Facilities / Administration in addition to HR is a plus; openness to taking on this scope is essential
- Track record of building and scaling HR in a new or evolving setup — not just maintaining existing systems
Leadership \& Character
- Trusted advisor and people-first leader — earns credibility quickly with both the India team and US leadership
- High ownership mindset: a builder who creates structure from ambiguity and leads by example
- Strong executive presence and communication skills — capable of presenting to and partnering with C-suite stakeholders in the US
- Comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced environments, and the demands of an early-stage GCC that is growing quickly
- Data-driven decision maker — at home in a company where analytics and insights are at the core of everything
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP HCM, or equivalent); experienced working within globally managed HR systems
- Deep knowledge of Indian labor law, statutory compliance, and HR governance
- Strong Communication skills— written and verbal — for effective daily collaboration with US headquarters
- Comfort with HR analytics and reporting to drive insight-led people decisions
