The Human Resource Manager
Join a global automotive manufacturing organization in a pivotal HR leadership position supporting a 400+ employee production facility in the Greater Indianapolis area.
The Human Resources Manager will lead a team of seven professionals and oversee the full range of site HR activities, including employee relations, staffing, payroll, benefits, compliance, and workforce engagement. This is a visible, hands-on role for someone who can lead a team, partner effectively with plant management, and confidently address the realities of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise HR Generalist, Payroll, and Benefits team members and ensure responsive HR service across the facility.
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, performance-management processes, and employee communications.
- Drive initiatives that support retention, engagement, and a productive workplace culture.
- Collaborate with plant and corporate leaders to align HR programs with operational objectives and company policy.
- Oversee onboarding, payroll administration, benefit programs, FMLA, and HR policy execution.
- Manage the recruiting process and support ongoing hiring needs for the manufacturing operation.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen HR processes, policies, and employee programs.
Qualifications
- At least seven years of Human Resources experience, including prior HR Generalist or HR Manager responsibilities.
- Previous experience supporting a manufacturing workforce is strongly preferred.
- Well-rounded knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, payroll, benefits, internal communications, and conflict management.
- Experience with FMLA administration and HR policy/procedure development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
