An exciting opportunity has arisen within Medical Day Unit at the QEUH for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to ensure that high quality, safe, effective, person centred care. You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient\-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients (or a commitment to learn and develop these skills).You will demonstrate flexibility, and a willingness to participate in service progression and growth. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential.
This post requires PVG scheme membership / Disclosure Scotland check. As part of NHSGGC pre\-employment checking for all appointed candidates.
**You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.**
**Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:**
* Location based in Gartnavel General Hospital
* Permanent Contract
* Full\-time position (36 hours per week)
* The shift pattern for this post are Monday \- Friday, 0800 \- 1700
**Key Responsibilities**
* Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients to ensure delivery of a high standard of care.
* Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives /carers and other members of the MDT to ensure that appropriate information is shared and patient needs are met.
* Organise own workload to ensure that the interests of patients / clients are met
* Responsible for maintaining patients records within agreed standards
* Develop the role by using evidence\-based practice and continuously improve own knowledge
* Participate in clinical audit as required
* Adheres to the organisational infection control policies and procedure and acts as a role model in the maintenance of a safe environment

**Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:**
* Registered Nurses on the NMC Register (Part 1 \& 12\)
* Relevant Clinical Experience
* Evidence of continued professional development
