**Job Description** **Position:** Senior Staff Accountant **Department:** Finance \& Accounts **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Location:** SMCHS Block B, Karachi **Work Mode:** Onsite **Timings:** 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM **Job Summary** We are seeking a detail\-oriented and dedicated **Senior Staff Accountant** with 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have strong hands\-on experience with accounting systems and a solid understanding of financial processes, reporting, and compliance. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting overall financial operations. **Key Responsibilities** * **Financial Record Management:** * Maintain and record day\-to\-day financial transactions accurately in accounting systems. Ensure proper documentation and verification of all financial data. * **Financial Reporting:** * Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries. Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness. * **Account Reconciliation:** * Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts. Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies promptly. * **Accounts Payable \& Receivable:** * Manage invoicing, payments, and collections. Ensure timely processing and monitoring of receivables and payables. * **Budgeting \& Forecasting Support:** * Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and financial forecasting activities in coordination with the finance team. * **Audit Support:** * Provide required documentation and assistance during internal and external audits. Help resolve audit observations and implement corrective actions. * **Compliance \& Controls:** * Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with changes in accounting standards. * **Record Maintenance:** * Maintain organized financial records and ensure proper documentation, retention, and confidentiality of sensitive information. * **Cross\-functional Collaboration:** * Work closely with internal teams (finance, operations, and management) to support financial decision\-making and resolve queries. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping * Proficiency in accounting software, including **QuickBooks** , **Xero** , and other ERP systems * Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting * Good knowledge of MS Excel and financial tools * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast\-paced environment **Preferred Qualifications** * Professional certifications such as ACCA, CA (Inter/Finalist), or ICMA (preferred but not mandatory)
