Job Description
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a senior engineer who is also a builder-leader: someone who can take a business goal, such as “make our website feel premium and world-class” or “automate this process with AI,” and turn it into a shipped product. You will own the architecture, lead the rebuild of our website, drive our AI and automation roadmap, and mentor two junior engineers. You will work directly with the founders, so clear thinking and clear communication matter as much as clean code.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead the redesign and rebuild of our website into a fast, modern, premium brand experience.
- Own AI and automation across the business: design and build n8n workflows and AI agents, and integrate language model APIs (such as Claude and OpenAI) into our website and operations.
- Own the data layer end to end, designing and maintaining our databases (PostgreSQL / Supabase and MongoDB), queries, and third-party integrations.
- Extend and improve our internal analytics platform.
- Set technical direction and standards for the team, and mentor two junior engineers.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 5 or more years building production web applications.
- Strong command of React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind), with a genuine eye for design.
- Strong with databases on both sides: relational (PostgreSQL / Supabase) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience with API integrations and automation tools (n8n, Make, or Zapier), including REST, webhooks, and OAuth.
- Real, hands-on experience integrating AI, such as building chatbots, AI agents, or language-model-powered features in a live product.
- Fluent with AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or Cursor), and able to set standards for using them well across the team.
- Comfortable owning deployment and cloud hosting (Vercel), environment and secrets management, cron jobs, and Git-based workflows.
- Strong ownership and communication, with the ability to work directly with founders and lead a small team.
Required Stack:
Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Node.js, REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth
Databases: PostgreSQL / Supabase and MongoDB (both required).
AI / LLM: Claude API, OpenAI API, LangChain / LangGraph, RAG, AI agents (must have shipped AI features in a live product).
