Job Description
Our client Qapla Industries is looking for a Senior Accountant \- Garment Manufacturing in Lahore
This role involves managing a team of 20 persons, ensuring streamlined accounting operations and adherence to compliance policies. The Accountant will monitor fabric consumption, wastage, and variances while reconciling physical and system stock accurately. Essential functions also include managing payroll entries, allocating labor costs to production, and verifying the accuracy of purchase, production, and sales transactions. The candidate will leverage advanced ERP financial reporting tools such as SAP or Oracle and conduct variance analysis to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies and implementing solutions will be vital for success in this role.
**Responsibilities**
* Maintain complete and accurate accounting records including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable in the garment manufacturing environment.
* Handle fabric and inventory accounting using ERP systems, with a strong preference for Oracle ERP PE3, ensuring real\-time accuracy.
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports that reflect the companys financial position and support managerial decision\-making.
* Calculate garment costing by accurately tracking material costs, direct labor, and overhead expenses to ensure production cost control.
* Monitor fabric consumption, identify wastage and variances, and implement corrective actions to optimize inventory utilization.
* Reconcile physical stock with system inventory records to uphold accuracy and prevent discrepancies in stock management.
* Manage payroll accounting entries and allocate labor costs to different production processes accordingly.
* Validate and ensure accuracy in purchase transactions, production records, and sales entries within the ERP system.
* Conduct tax preparation and compliance activities in line with statutory requirements and internal policies.
* Support budgeting and forecasting efforts through detailed variance analysis and financial insight.
* Maintain and enforce audit and internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure compliance.
* Utilize ERP financial reporting tools such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks to generate management reports and assist audit processes.
* Apply strong analytical and problem\-solving skills to identify financial discrepancies and implement effective solutions promptly.
* Supervise and lead a team of 20 accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to enhance team productivity.
* Develop and implement improvements to accounting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
* Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial practices with production schedules and company objectives.
* Maintain proficiency in MS Excel for complex data analysis, reconciliation, and report preparation.
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and all statutory requirements specific to the textile and garment manufacturing sector.
