Job Brief:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented

Quantity Surveyor – Roads

to manage cost planning, estimation, and financial control for our road development and maintenance projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing BOQs, verifying contractor bills, monitoring project costs, and supporting project managers in achieving budgetary targets. The role requires strong analytical skills, market awareness, and expertise in cost management to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for civil and road projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide accurate cost forecasting.
• Assist in project budgeting and cost planning in coordination with Project Managers.
• Monitor project costs and track variations during execution.
• Verify contractor invoices, subcontractor claims, and supplier bills against actual site work.
• Ensure all financial records are accurate, updated, and compliant with project requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
• Maintain updated knowledge of material prices, labor rates, and market trends.
• Support procurement teams in negotiating cost-effective rates without compromising quality.
• Ensure all financial and contractual documentation is in line with company policies.
• Provide support in auditing, compliance checks, and financial reporting.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and engineers to validate work progress against billing.
• Prepare financial statements, progress reports, and cash-flow forecasts.
• Highlight cost deviations and propose corrective measures to management.
• Support senior management with accurate cost data for decision-making.

Qualifications \& Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering (Diploma holders with experience may also apply).
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in civil/road projects.
• Proficiency in preparing BOQs, cost estimation, and billing verification.
• Strong understanding of contracts, FIDIC, and construction industry practices.
• Advanced MS Excel and working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project / Primavera preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
