Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and successfully delivering road construction and infrastructure projects while ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will work closely with engineering, operations, procurement, finance, HR, contractors, consultants, and senior management to ensure effective coordination, resource allocation, and successful project delivery. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to manage stakeholders, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive project success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and manage road construction projects from initiation to completion in line with organizational objectives.
- Define project scope, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and construction milestones in collaboration with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Direct site engineers, subcontractors, and field workers to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop detailed project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation strategies.
- Supervise site activities to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and government authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, environmental standards, and local authority guidelines.
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs, approve project expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
- Review and monitor construction quality, material testing, inspections, and project documentation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, technical challenges, and operational issues.
- Manage procurement activities and ensure timely availability of construction materials, machinery, and equipment.
- Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with all stakeholders.
- Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and performance reports to senior management and clients.
- Ensure all project documentation, drawings, permits, and records are properly maintained.
- Support project handover activities, including final inspections, snag resolution, and project close-out documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, construction methodologies, and operational efficiency.
- The Project Director may assign additional responsibilities beyond those listed in this job description.
Qualification \& Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a Reputed Local or Foreign University.
- Registered as Professional Engineer with Pakistan Engineering Council.
Experience:
- 10 to 15 years working on heavy civil, road, highway, or infrastructure projects.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Road Design \& Construction methods, Earthworks, Asphalt/Pavement works, Public Heath \& Drainage systems and utility coordination.
- Familiarity with FIDIC Construction Contracts, BOQs, project scheduling, and cost control.
- Knowledge of HSE standards, quality management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office will be an advantage.
