Job Description
Lead the design and development of bridges, tunnels and misc structures for mainline, metro, high\-speed, and heavy\-haul rail projects. This includes design of abutments, piers, foundations, superstructures, and decks.

is responsible for leading a team of designers to deliver the design of various types of bridges, including major, minor, RFO, FOB, culverts (box/pipe), suspension bridges, viaducts, segmental construautoction, I\-girders and U\-girders etc. The candidate should possess knowledge of alignment geometry, track\-structure interaction, and compliance with
**UIC, EN, AREMA, and RDSO standards**
to ensure structures meet operational requirements.
The Lead will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration with civil buildings, telecom, OHE, PSI, Rolling stock and signaling systems. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, to drive
**design innovation, value engineering, and digital workflows**
(BIM, parametric modeling, and automation) to review deliverables and ensure quality, cost, and schedule adherence. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and clients to achieve project objectives. Support tendering, business development, and proposal preparation with technical expertise.
Functional : Key Responsibilities \-
* Domain Competency :
**Bridge Design**
* Lead detailed design of various bridge types, including major, minor, RFO, FOB, culverts (box/pipe), abutments, piers, foundations, superstructures, decks, trusses, and viaducts using Staad, Midas, and CAD software.
* Coordinate with survey, track, and GTI design teams. Analyze terrain, environmental, and location constraints.
* Design foundations including open, raft, and piling types.
**Structural Analysis \& Calculations**
* Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure strength, stability, and performance under railway and roadway loading conditions.
* Conduct Rail\-Structure Interaction (RSI) studies in accordance with latest IRC/IRS code provisions.
**Construction Drawings \& Specifications**
* Prepare and review construction and fabrication drawings for bridges, girders, trusses, drains, canals, and other structures.
* Develop material specifications and cost estimations for major structures.
* Use BRT/OpenRail, AutoCAD, Civil 3D , FEM, and BIM for design optimization.
**Precast member Manufacturing**
* Plan and optimize members production, factory layouts, and bridge/ girder installation methodologies.
* Prepare production workflows, allocate resources (manpower, P\&M, heavy equipment), and ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and project standards.
**RSI \& N\&V Mitigation Expertise**
* Provide guidance on structural dependencies affecting track design and ensure safety (RSI). Recommend solutions to mitigate noise and vibration impacts on adjacent structures and comply with regulations.
**Civil \& Road Works**
* Collaborate with railway engineers and civil teams; provide technical support during construction and commissioning.

+ Design tunnel linings (segmental, cast\-in\-situ), portals, shafts, and underground stations.
+ Analyze ground conditions, perform stability checks, and coordinate with geotechnical teams.
+ Design waterproofing, drainage, ventilation, and fire safety systems.
+ Familiarity with NATM, TBM, and cut\-and\-cover methodologies.

+ Quantity Surveying/Estimation: Prepare detailed quantity take\-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates. Analyze material requirements and subcontractor pricing to identify cost\-saving opportunities.
+ System Integration : Ensure integration of Bridge with Track, overhead Equipment (OHE) power supply installations (PSI), signalling, telecom, and rolling stock systems. Align electrical sections with signalling block sections and neutral section arrangements. Ensure interoperability of vendor products (Bearings, Girders, gantries).
+ Exposure : Hands\-on experience with Bridge/ girder launching, soil behavior, concrete technology, construction materials, Trolley inspections, Rail structure interaction, Noise \& Vibration Mitigation, Alignment regression fitment, survey, interoperability guidelines, and field measurements. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, EPC project execution, and multidisciplinary coordination.

**Collaboration \& Coordination**
* Engage with consultants, clients, multidisciplinary teams, regulators, and internal departments to ensure integrated, compliant, and feasible designs and garner approvals.
* Participate in project meetings and Conduct site visits to provide technical support during construction.
* Collaborate with internal departments and external companies to maintain updated knowledge and influence decisions.
