About the Role
The Jr. Data Scientist will support data-driven decision-making across the organization in a full-time, remote role. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from multiple sources, as well as performing exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns and insights. The role involves building and evaluating basic statistical and machine learning models under the guidance of senior team members. The Jr. Data Scientist will create clear reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with product, marketing, and operations teams will be essential to define data requirements, measure performance, and support experiments that improve the platform and candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret large datasets to support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain automated workflows using Python and SQL
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualisations using BI and analytics tools
- Support predictive analytics, segmentation, and forecasting projects
- Assist in building scalable reporting and data processing solutions
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into data solutions
- Contribute to the maintenance and optimisation of data models and pipelines
- Explore new technologies and AI-assisted approaches to improve operational efficiency
- Participate in team discussions, workshops, and continuous learning initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in data-focused disciplines, including Data Science and Data Analytics.
- Working knowledge of Statistics and Data Analysis to design experiments, validate hypotheses, and interpret results.
- Ability to create clear, engaging Data Visualization outputs (e.g., dashboards, charts, plots) for diverse audiences.
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in data work (such as Python or R) and basic SQL for querying databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and data tools (e.g., Jupyter, notebooks, BI platforms) is a plus.
