Job Description
This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of Human Resources in a long\-standing, entrepreneurial organization with approximately 70 employees. This is a true department\-of\-one role designed for a confident, “firm but fair” HR leader who can build systems, manage payroll, and navigate strong personalities with credibility and empathy.

**A typical day:**
* Take full ownership of the HR function as a stand\-alone manager
* Build, refine, and maintain HR processes so the “HR engine” runs smoothly
* Manage full\-cycle payroll through ADP, including vacation tracking and reporting
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding
* Maintain HR systems and records in BambooHR or similar platforms
* Act as a visible, day\-to\-day HR presence, handling conflicts and concerns directly
* Lead performance reviews, documentation, and corrective action when required
* Support workplace culture, morale, and engagement initiatives and events
**Successful candidates will have:**
* 4–5\+ years of progressive HR experience (step\-up or seasoned manager)
* Proven experience supporting 40–70\+ employees
* Hands\-on ADP payroll experience (required)
* Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation
* Confident, “firm but fair” approach with strong interpersonal judgment
* Ability to manage strong personalities without being overly rigid or passive
* Excellent written and verbal communication with polished professionalism
* CHRP or CHRL designation strongly preferred
