Financial Controller / Senior Manager – BPO Accounting \& FInance

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Bookkeeping (BPO) to lead our outsourced bookkeeping practice. The role requires a strategic leader with deep accounting expertise, proven operational management skills, and the ability to drive service excellence in a fast-paced, client-centric environment. The Senior Manager will oversee delivery teams, ensure compliance with accounting standards, optimize processes, and nurture strong client relationships. The emoluments will be in-line with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery \& Operations

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the bookkeeping function within the BPO business unit.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of bookkeeping services (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, etc.).
  • Implement and maintain SLAs, KPIs, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Monitor workload allocation, resource utilization, and productivity across teams.

Client Management

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for key client accounts.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client CFOs, finance managers, and controllers.
  • Conduct regular client reviews, identify service gaps, and proactively recommend improvements.
  • Support client onboarding, transitions, and escalations.

Leadership \& People Development

  • Manage and mentor bookkeeping delivery managers, team leads, and staff accountants.
  • Drive professional development and training programs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client-first mindset.

Process Improvement \& Technology

  • Understand and actively use AI driven solutions for efficient delivery.
  • Drive automation and technology adoption in bookkeeping processes.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices in accounting operations, controls, and reporting.
  • Partner with transformation teams to streamline workflows and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Stay current on industry trends, accounting standards, and BPO innovations.

Qualifications \& Experience

Qualified Accountant

  • 10+ years’ experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in BPO/shared services or outsourcing leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and bookkeeping best practices.
  • Proven track record managing multi-client, multi-geography bookkeeping operations.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in people leadership, coaching, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in automation, RPA, or accounting technology transformation is a plus.
