This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.*** Objective of the traineeship The traineeship aims to give you practical, hands‑on experience by applying legal principles to real‑life issues arising from the EIB’s operational activity. Within our team, you will support legal work related to debt restructurings, fund investments and venture debt operations, mostly handled in English. You will assist permanent legal staff through tasks such as conducting legal research, drafting first versions of contracts or simple amendments, participating in negotiations and liaising with external law firms and other counterparties under supervision. This will allow you to gain experience in a complex, multi‑jurisdictional environment and strengthen your legal, analytical and drafting skills. Overall, the traineeship is intended to support your early professional development while enabling you to contribute meaningfully to the work of the Legal Directorate. **Responsibilities** As a trainee, you will: * Assist lawyers in the preparation of documentation. * Draft basic documentation under the supervision of a lawyer. * Preliminary review legal documentation submitted for approval. * Participate in legal negotiations under the supervision of a lawyer. * Carry out legal research in regard to principles of law applicable in EU and non\-EU countries. **Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills** * Final year of studies or University degree in Law * Ability to draft, analyse and report coherently in relation to legal issues. * Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools. * At least one prior traineeship. * Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French, Spanish or German would be an advantage.
