About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our cloud engineering and security-focused team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Cloud Operations and Security, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS. Your primary focus will be on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and platform performance optimization, all while ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards. You will play a key role in establishing secure infrastructure practices, implementing automation strategies, and promoting a security-first mindset throughout the organization. Your contributions will directly impact the resilience, scalability, and security of our SaaS platform that serves Canadian healthcare practitioners. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement based in Toronto, Vancouver, or Victoria, with opportunities to influence critical infrastructure projects and advance your career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering within SaaS or high-availability environments
  • Strong expertise in AWS services (compute, networking, storage)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
  • Knowledge of observability tools including Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch
  • Experience with containerization and deployment using Docker or Kubernetes
  • Understanding of security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001
  • Familiarity with security tools like SIEM, CSPM, DSPM, ASPM, and security scanners for IaC
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor team members
  • Availability for a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
  • Experience working in healthcare technology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes and improve efficiency
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, and reliability, implementing proactive alerting and incident response strategies
  • Support and troubleshoot production systems, ensuring high availability and security
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline deployment workflows and enhance developer experience
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation, security assessments, and compliance automation initiatives
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
  • Promote a security-first approach across all cloud infrastructure and operational activities
