Job Description
**About The Company**
Northbeam is a leading organization in the field of marketing measurement and optimization, dedicated to providing innovative solutions that empower businesses to make data\-driven decisions. The company’s Data Science organization serves as the core intelligence layer, responsible for developing and advancing methodologies such as Media Mix Modeling (MMM), Incrementality testing, causal multi\-touch attribution (MTA), calibration and validation frameworks, and large\-scale experimentation systems. Northbeam’s commitment to scientific rigor and scalable insights enables its products to deliver accurate, reliable, and actionable marketing intelligence, ultimately driving customer success and business growth.
**About The Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to join Northbeam’s Data Science team. In this role, you will focus on enhancing the statistical and experimentation foundations of our marketing intelligence products, including MMM, Incrementality, Insights, and Recommendation engines. This is a full\-stack position that involves working across the entire data science lifecycle—from researching and developing advanced statistical and causal inference methodologies to deploying, maintaining, and iterating production systems. You will operate at the intersection of research and product development, owning modeling processes from data exploration and experimental design to model validation and live system updates.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of statistical modeling techniques and the assumptions underlying them, with the ability to adapt models to complex, real\-world marketing data. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency, judgment, and collaboration, as you will work closely with engineering teams to integrate models into scalable systems and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non\-technical stakeholders. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of marketing measurement and contribute to innovative scientific solutions that impact our product offerings and customer value.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a highly quantitative STEM field (Master’s degree preferred).
* 6\+ years of applied experience in data science, machine learning, or statistical modeling roles.
* Deep expertise in statistics and causal inference, including hands\-on experience with experiment design (A/B testing, geo\-based experiments, quasi\-experimental methods), power analysis, and lift interpretation.
* Strong understanding of regression analysis, time series modeling, Bayesian methods, and model evaluation in real\-world business contexts.
* Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience working on modern data platforms and statistical modeling libraries.
* Experience translating research or experimentation frameworks into production systems.
* Comfort working with production code and making modifications to live models and pipelines.
* Interest or prior experience in marketing measurement, including MMM and incrementality analysis.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non\-technical audiences.
* A proactive, growth\-oriented mindset with a passion for improving measurement quality and decision\-making processes.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop and refine statistical and causal inference methodologies to enhance the rigor and reliability of Northbeam’s marketing measurement products.
* Improve the accuracy, robustness, and scalability of existing Media Mix Modeling pipelines and other analytical frameworks.
* Write production\-quality Python and SQL code, collaborating closely with engineering teams to embed statistical workflows into scalable, automated systems.
* Assess model assumptions critically, identify potential biases, and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring high\-quality results.
* Debug and troubleshoot data and modeling issues in production environments to maintain system reliability and accuracy.
* Translate complex statistical findings into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders and clients, supporting strategic decision\-making.
* Participate in cross\-functional projects, providing scientific expertise to inform product development and customer solutions.
**Benefits**
* Base Salary Range: $180,000—$230,000 USD, commensurate with experience and location.
* Equity package to align your success with company growth.
* Comprehensive healthcare benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
* 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
* Flexible paid time off policy, including 12 company\-paid holidays and 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
* A $500 work\-from\-home stipend to support remote work setup.
