About the Opportunity

A well-established organization operating across multiple business units is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join its finance team. This position offers exposure to a broad range of accounting functions within a dynamic environment and provides the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly and year-end close activities.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and various financial analyses.
  • Review accounting procedures and identify opportunities to enhance processes and controls.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Assist with audit requests and provide required financial documentation.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including cash and balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Review operating expenses and provide insights on variances and trends.
  • Partner with operational and administrative teams to improve financial data accuracy.
  • Assist with selected accounts payable and accounts receivable activities when required.
  • Contribute to special projects, system improvements, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support ongoing internal control processes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation completed or in progress is considered an asset.
  • Approximately 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; exposure to large-scale ERP platforms is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
