Job Description
You will be working for a multinational engineering and manufacturing organisation with a strong global presence, supplying high-quality industrial components and solutions to customers across a range of sectors including automotive, infrastructure, medical, and industrial manufacturing. This role is a Commercial Lawyer role, reporting to the General Counsel. You will be a part of a small and high-performing team, and you will be joining at an exciting and transformative time for this organisation. Some key responsibilities below;
- Act as the primary legal contact for commercial, sales, procurement, and contractual matters
- Support contract negotiations, resolve commercial issues, and escalate risks where appropriate.
- Deliver legal and commercial training to internal stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate contracted legal services.
- Maintain awareness of evolving business and legal requirements, ensuring stakeholders remain informed.
- Own and manage legal service processes, including playbooks, templates, and legal technology platforms.
- Lead communication and knowledge sharing across the legal delivery team to support consistency and best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales (or commonwealth) with a guideline of 2+ PQE
- Preferably some in-house legal experience, including a secondment
- Commercial contracts experience, including advising on, drafting, negotiating, and managing high-value customer contracts, ideally with exposure to international agreements and foreign jurisdictions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Technology-enabled legal services expertise, including an interest in legal technology and experience with case management, workflow, and document automation tools.
