**Role Summary**
The Accountant will be responsible for managing all financial transactions of the wallpaper showroom, including billing, inventory costing, vendor payments, customer receivables, daily cash management, and financial reporting. The role requires accuracy, integrity, and strong knowledge of accounting principles relevant to retail/interior décor businesses.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1\. Financial Accounting \& Bookkeeping**
* Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP, and Tally).
* Record daily sales invoices, cash receipts, online payments, and credit transactions.
* Prepare purchase entries for wallpaper rolls, accessories, and installation materials.
* Reconcile bank statements, cash books, and petty cash.
**2\. Billing \& Invoicing**
* Generate customer invoices for showroom sales and project\-based wallpaper installations.
* Coordinate with sales team to ensure correct rates, discounts, and measurements.
* Follow up on outstanding payments from clients.
**3\. Inventory \& Stock Management**
* Maintain updated stock levels of wallpaper rolls, catalogs, pasting materials, and consumables.
* Conduct weekly/monthly stock audits.
* Reconcile physical stock with system stock and report variances.
**4\. Vendor \& Supplier Management**
* Verify supplier invoices and goods received notes (GRN).
* Prepare payment schedules for suppliers.
* Maintain good relationships with local and international wallpaper suppliers.
**5\. Payroll \& Staff Accounts**
* Manage salary sheets, attendance, advances, overtime, and installation team payments.
* Maintain records for commissions (if applicable) for sales staff.
**6\. Financial Reporting**
* Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
* Create profit \& loss statements and expense reports.
* Provide management with financial insights on showroom performance.
**7\. Compliance**
* Ensure compliance with local tax laws (GST / Sales Tax depending on country).
* Maintain records for audits and filings.
**Skills \& Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
* 2–5 years of accounting experience (retail or interior décor industry preferred).
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, and MS Excel.
* Experience with inventory\-based businesses.
* Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
