**Posting Number** : **T2** **6\-** **51** **Date Issued:** April 15, 2026 **POSITION** **Worksite:** Sardis Secondary School **Contract Type:** Continuing, Full\-Time **Assignment Area(s):** Powertech 9, Woodwork 10\-12 **Salary Range** $63,347 to $116,190 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) **Effective Date:** September 1, 2026 **Please Note** **:** The assignment within this position in September may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position. **Deadline for Applications:** Thursday, April 23, 2026 – 12:00 pm Pacific Time Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts \& the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching. **Required Abilities, Qualifications And Experience** * Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment. * Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment. * Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators. * Diploma Certificate in Technology Teacher Education (TTED) required for woodwork and technology education components. * At least two years' experience teaching Secondary Technology (Woodwork and/or Power Technology) * A commitment to ensuring WCB and WorkSafeBC safety standards in the shop environment * Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment * Willingness to work with highly motivated students to ensure maximum success beyond graduation * Demonstrated ability to motivate, and provide success for struggling learners * Demonstrated ability to devise and use a variety of assessment processes that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning * Demonstrated ability to consistently incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies that maintain the dignity of students with an emphasis on a proactive approach * An exemplary work ethic with proven ability to work as an effective team member * Proven ability as a curricular leader including exemplary organizational and time management skills, creative problem\-solving skills, effective team building skills and strong communication skills * Demonstrated willingness to explore and implement concepts from the new curriculum including awareness of and experience working with the First Peoples Principles of Learning * Demonstrated commitment to a vertically aligned curriculum * Demonstrated commitment to the use of technology to enhance and leverage effective instructional practice and track student learning * Demonstrated commitment to use technology as part of a larger initiative to communicate consistently and effectively with parents * Demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for developing positive relationships with adolescents * Willingness to work in a collaborative manner with staff, administration, and parents * Demonstrated commitment to and engagement in lifelong professional and personal learning **For Further Information Contact:** Lynnet Schramm, Principal; Josh Sandberg, VP; Jeff Dartnell, VP; Carla Walsh, VP (604\) 858\-9424
