System Engineer

**About the job** The System engineer in the Technology and Services department will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting technology systems and solutions. This role involves hands\-on technical work, customer support, and ensuring optimal system performance. The Engineer will collaborate closely with clients, team members, and other stakeholders to deliver high\-quality service and maintain client satisfaction. **Responsibilities** **System Implementation \& Configuration** * Server Infrastructure: Architect, configure, and maintain high\-availability server environments suitable for enterprise\-grade video surveillance workloads (including RAID arrays, storage optimization, and OS hardening). * VMS Management: Design, install, and configure Milestone XProtect environments, ensuring seamless integration with edge devices. * Device Commissioning: Perform expert\-level configuration of Axis Communications network cameras, encoders, and thermal devices to meet project\-specific security requirements. * Networking: Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, VLANs, routing, and bandwidth optimization) to ensure low\-latency video streaming and data integrity. **Testing \& Compliance** * Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all system designs and installations strictly adhere to SIRA (Security Industry Regulatory Agency) and ADMCC (Abu Dhabi Monitoring and Control Centre) regulations and standards. * Commissioning (FAT/SAT): Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes, ensuring systems meet client specifications and regulatory benchmarks. * Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous system stress testing, failover testing, and health checks to ensure 99\.9% system uptime. **Maintenance \& Support** * Perform periodic system audits, firmware updates, back ups and patch management to maintain overall housekeeping \& functionality of the system. * Security system knowledge: Maintenance of the system, diagnosis, troubleshooting, wiring \& connection details, Windows server configurations \& troubleshooting knowledge. * Provide Level 2/3 technical support for complex system malfunctions and integration issues. * Prepare detailed technical documentation, including as\-built drawings, configuration logs, and commissioning reports. * Perform regular maintenance on installed systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. Provide on\-site and remote support to address client concerns and system failures. **Installation and Configuration** * Install and configure technology systems, including security systems, access control, \& accessories, magnetic locks, panels, intercoms, and IP cameras. Set up and test hardware and software components to ensure proper functionality. Integrate systems and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure. **Technical Support** * Respond to client inquiries and provide technical assistance promptly. Offer training to clients on the proper use and maintenance of installed systems. Document and communicate solutions for recurring technical issues. **Documentation and Reporting** * Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and system configurations. Prepare reports on system performance and issues resolved. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all technical documentation. **Safety and Compliance:** * Follow safety protocols during installation and maintenance work. Ensure all installations comply with local regulations and industry standards. **Qualifications** * Diploma or Degree, in Electronics/Electrical/IT engineering, or in any other related technical field with a prior experience in the security services industry. * Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting IP\-based systems, including cameras, access control, intercoms \& gate barriers * Comprehensive knowledge of IP protocols and core networking principles. * Exceptional abilities in problem\-solving, diagnostics, effective communication, and interpersonal relations. **Certifications** * SIRA Certification: Valid and current certification required for security systems installation and commissioning. * ADMCC Certification: Valid and current certification for operations within Abu Dhabi jurisdictions. * Milestone Certification: Certified Milestone Integration Technician (MCIT) or Certified Milestone Integration Engineer (MCIE). * Axis Certification: Axis Certified Professional (ACP). * Other added value Certifications preferred:\-Avigilon, Lenel Onguard, MCSA, MCSE, AZ\-800,AS801,CCNA/CCNP
