Structural Engineer

Job Title: Structural / Civil Engineer We are seeking a Structural / Civil Engineer to join our team at our Maidstone (Kent) office on a permanent, hybrid\-working basis. Adkins Consultants Ltd is a progressive and well\-established consultancy with a diverse portfolio of projects across London and the South East. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of building structures, including both new\-build and refurbishment schemes. As part of our design team, you will be responsible for the preparation of structural designs, drawings, and specifications, alongside technical reporting and coordination with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities * Deliver high\-quality structural design and drawing packages in accordance with client requirements * Ensure projects are delivered to programme and within agreed deliverables * Undertake structural analysis and design across a range of materials and structural forms * Carry out site inspections and structural surveys of existing and new buildings * Prepare clear and concise technical reports, including structural appraisal reports * Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other consultants throughout the design process * Maintain quality and consistency across all technical outputs Skills and Experience * Experience in structural design within residential and commercial sectors * Proficient in structural analysis software (including TEDDS or similar) * Competent in CAD/BIM software such as Revit or ArchiCAD * Good understanding of relevant UK design standards, including Eurocodes and British Standards * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment * Strong communication and organisational skills * Full UK driving licence Qualifications and Development * Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng, or equivalent) * Working towards or already achieving chartered status (e.g. Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers) * We offer structured support towards chartership through an ICE\-approved training scheme This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing consultancy and contribute to a wide range of technically challenging and rewarding projects.
