**Join the City of Medicine Hat as a Storekeeper 1**
Temporary (8 weeks), Full time (35 hours per week), On Site
Are you organized, dependable, and ready to roll up your sleeves? The City of Medicine Hat is looking for a Storekeeper 1 for a temporary, position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. This is a great opportunity to gain hands\-on experience in a dynamic warehouse setting while supporting the essential services that keep our city running smoothly. **Your Key Responsibilities**
* Receive and issue stock using a computerized inventory control system.
* Inspect, shelve, and distribute stock throughout the organization.
* Prepare supplies as needed.
* Conduct cycle counts and periodic inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
* Maintain the office, warehouse, and yard in a clean and organized manner.
* Operate various tools and equipment, including pallet jack, hand truck and office equipment.
**What You Bring**
* A basic understanding of inventory systems and warehouse procedures.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
* A commitment to safety and attention to detail in all tasks.
* Willingness and physical capability to perform manual labour in a variety of weather and warehouse conditions.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn inventory and ERP systems.
* High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
**Qualifications**
* Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
* One (1\) year of work experience, preferably in a Stores or warehouse environment.
* Knowledge of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations is an asset.
* An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
This is a temporary position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program. To be eligible, applicants must:
* Be between 15 and 30 years of age.
* Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment.
* Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
