In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain distributed storage services running in modern **Kubernetes\-based environments** . You’ll work closely with senior engineers/architects to deliver reliable, efficient, and cloud\-native storage solutions.** **This is an excellent opportunity for engineers early in their careers to grow their expertise in **distributed systems, container orchestration, and storage infrastructure** .** ****Key Responsibilities**** * Design, develop, and maintain components of distributed storage systems. * Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in C\+\+, Java \& Go (Golang). * Build and operate storage services in Kubernetes environments. * Contribute to system design discussions, including scalability, reliability, and performance trade\-offs. * Debug and resolve complex issues across distributed systems. * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams (SRE, platform, and application teams). * Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices. * Develop and maintain automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling. * Contributions to open\-source projects. * Experience with CSI (Container Storage Interface) or Kubernetes operators. * Knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and memory management in C\+\+. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). * 1–5 years of software engineering experience. * Strong programming skills in C\+\+, Java \& Go (Golang). * Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and systems programming. * Experience working with Linux systems. * Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized applications. * Basic understanding of distributed systems concepts (e.g., replication, consistency, fault tolerance). * Understanding of AI tools like Claude/Kline/Chatgpt/Co\-Pilot **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with storage technologies (e.g., block, file, or object storage systems). * Experience building or operating services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). * Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, gRPC, REST APIs). * Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). * Understanding of performance tuning and low\-level system optimization. ****What You’ll Gain**** * Hands\-on experience building cloud\-native storage systems at scale. * Exposure to real\-world distributed systems challenges. * Mentorship from experienced engineers. * Opportunities to grow into a senior engineering role. **Additional Details** The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: C$118,000 \- C$157,500 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
