Job Title: Shadow Teacher – PYP

We are seeking a compassionate and committed Shadow Teacher who will be appointed and supervised directly by the student's parents. While working within the school premises, the Shadow Teacher is expected to adhere to all school policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements, and to collaborate professionally with school staff in the best interests of the student.

The Shadow Teacher will provide one-to-one support to a Primary Years Programme (PYP) student with a learning disability during the academic day.

Academic Hours: 8:20 AM to 1:15 PM

Work Location: King's College UK, Gurugram, Sector 59, Bandhwari, Gurugram, Haryana 122102

Time required to fill: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised academic and classroom support to the assigned student.
• Assist the student in following classroom routines, completing learning tasks and participating in school activities.
• Implement strategies to support learning, literacy and independence, in accordance with the guidance provided by the student's parents and classroom teacher.
• Monitor the student's wellbeing and follow the school's health, safety and emergency procedures.
• Maintain regular communication with the student's parents and Homeroom Teacher regarding the student's progress, observations and daily support.
• Coordinate closely with the parents and carry out responsibilities in line with their guidance, while working collaboratively with the Homeroom Teacher to ensure consistency in the student's educational experience.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications \& Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology or a related field.
• Experience working with children with learning disabilities or other diverse learning needs preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with the student, parents, and colleagues.
