Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include **Benchmark** , **General Catalyst** , **Peter Thiel** , **Adam D'Angelo** , **Larry Summers** , and **Jack Dorsey** . **Position:** General Accounting Expert **Type:** **Contract** **Compensation:** **$50–$70/hour** **Location:** **Remote** **Role Responsibilities** * Develop long\-horizon accounting tasks that mirror real\-world scenarios with deterministic rubrics. * Create transactional accounting scenarios such as journal entries and AP/AR with defined cash application rules. * Design close processes including reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany eliminations. * Construct supporting analyses with flux explanations against ground\-truth variances. * Work independently and asynchronously to ensure tasks have checkable answers and meet deadlines. **Qualifications** **Must\-Have** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. * 3\+ years as a staff or senior accountant. * Expertise in reconciliations, accruals, intercompany, fixed assets, AP/AR on major ERPs like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, Intacct. * Ability to read and produce accounting artifacts like JE packages, reconciliations, and trial balances. * Clear written communication skills for encoding reasoning into deterministic rubrics. **Preferred** * CPA or CPA candidate. **Compensation \& Legal** * Hourly contractor * Paid weekly via Stripe Connect **Application Process (Takes 20–30 mins to complete)** * Upload resume * AI interview based on your resume * Submit form **Resources \& Support** * For details about the interview process and platform information, please check: https://talent.docs.mercor.com/welcome * For any help or support, reach out to: support@mercor.com *PS: Our team reviews applications daily.
