Job Description
**Summary**
The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for driving profitable sales growth for the company in his/her region/account team and direct reports.This role is pivotal in achieving our EBITDA goals and expanding market presence. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in sales leadership, strategic planning, people development and revenue management.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
* Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets, including but not limited to, yearly EBIDTA budget, distribution goals and joint business plans.
* Set clear performance goals and KPIs for team, regularly monitoring and reporting on progress via increased sales volume, optimized distribution, comprehensive promotional and merchandising strategies while developing new business in key accounts
* Lead the customer portfolio, develop, and execute account strategies including retailer, distributors and other accounts.
* Collaborate with VP Sales to develop long\-term sales strategies and business plans across Novus Foods portfolio
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and sales brokers, establishing and holding accountable to KPIs.
* Develop relationships at strategic accounts to create strong, long\-term relationships via action\-orientation and thought leadership to generate mutual wins for Novus Foods and customers.
* Anticipate customer needs by constant review of market conditions and competitive activity
* Actively collaborate with the sales team and cross\-functioning teams to create and implement sales strategy through promotional programs, trainings, tradeshows, and events.
* Proactively monitor market trends, competitive activities and customer strategy to identify and seize opportunities and identify risks. Deploy strategies to capture opportunities and mitigate risk.
* Accountable for optimizing, reducing complexity and leading the go\-to\-market strategy for a specific customer segment.
* Provide governance to downstream customers and regions, ensuring that adherence to national guidelines are satisfactory.
* Lead, mentor, and manage direct report(s) sales professionals, ensuring high performance and development.
* Responsible for the overall management and growth of the sales region via direct report and own individual accounts
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 7\-10 years of Sales experience in CPG industry; MBA preferred.
* 10\+ years of experience in sales, with prior people management experience and business development in a leadership role
* Direct responsibility in sales in traditional grocery with category management \& trade funds account level management experience.
* Hands on direct and brokered experience, Leading team across customers and wholesale channels a plus.
* Proven success in a high\-growth environment and developing sales plans tied to company targeted objectives.
* Proven experience handling major negotiations with key customers and executing with efficiency.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
* Ability to analyze sales data and develop strategies for fact\-based selling utilizing syndicated data (IRI/AC Nielsen) \& customer data.
* Strong computer application skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills; cross\-functional experience a plus
* Ability to manage multiple project assignments and coordinate activities to meet specific deadlines
