Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Senior Liferay Engineer. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain Liferay-based portals and digital platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
- Develop and customize Liferay DXP 7.4 portal — portlets, themes, layouts, and fragments.
- Build OSGi modules and back-end services using Service Builder, Java, and Spring.
- Develop and integrate REST and Liferay Headless APIs with internal and third-party systems.
- Build front-end features with FreeMarker, JavaScript, and Liferay’s Clay/React components.
- Tune Liferay for performance and security, and manage deployments across application servers.
Qualifications
- Strong Liferay expertise, including portal architecture, custom portlets, hooks, themes, layouts, and workflow configuration.
- Solid Java and Java EE skills, including experience with Spring or similar frameworks, RESTful APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Front-end development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular) for Liferay UI customization.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), SQL optimization, and basic data modeling for portal applications.
- Experience in digital transformation, enterprise platforms, or complex integration projects is highly beneficial.
