Role: Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Corporate office, Bangalore (IBC Knowledge Park)
Reporting to: General Counsel
Team Name: Corporate Legal Team
About the Team and the Role:
The Corporate Legal Team is a vital partner in our mission to revolutionise electric mobility. We provide comprehensive legal guidance and strategic support across all business functions. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape of the EV industry in India. You will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, from contract negotiation to corporate compliance and risk management, working closely with senior leadership to protect the company's interests and enable its rapid growth.
Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements supporting Business, Sales, Supply Chain, and R\&D functions.
* Advise senior management and internal stakeholders on diverse legal and regulatory matters, including corporate, data privacy, and employment law.
* Manage the company's real estate transactions, including leases, licenses, and property acquisitions.
* Oversee all dispute resolution and litigation matters, effectively managing external legal counsel and legal proceedings.
* Develop, implement, and enforce company policies and compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to all applicable Indian laws and regulations.
* Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks across the organisation through strategic action plans.
* Act as Advisor to the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer on SEBI LODR Matters and Companies Act, 2013 Compliance Requirements.
* Oversee the Maintenance of Statutory Records, Registers and Filing of Returns.
* Draft Agenda, Annual Reports, Convene Board, Committee and General Body Meetings.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India is mandatory
* Law degree from a premier law institute is mandatory
* 12 to 17 years of post\-qualification corporate secretarial \& legal experience, including significant work in an in\-house senior legal position at a public listed multinational corporation or a reputed public listed company in India.
Must have Competencies:
* Expertise in drafting and negotiating diverse commercial contracts.
* In\-depth knowledge of Indian corporate, competition, privacy, and employment laws.
* Experience with real estate law, including commercial conveyancing, leases, and licenses.
* Proven ability to manage disputes, litigation, and external legal counsel.
* Strong understanding of legal compliance and corporate policy implementation.
* Familiarity with government policies and initiatives related to the EV sector in India.
