Job Description
You're the engineer who maintains uptime across 50\+ SaaS products when no one else has the full picture. We need DevOps engineers capable of diving into unknown AWS environments, restoring order to chaotic systems, and driving availability above 99\.9% through genuine monitoring, automation, and root\-cause analysis. You'll break complex projects into single\-day deliverables, deploy production\-quality Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as your assistant.
Many organizations talk about "cloud" while manually tending servers. We're scaling reliability across dozens of acquired products where the original teams have left and the documentation is incomplete. That's the opportunity: you'll use agents and current tooling to explore unfamiliar systems 5–10x faster, document your findings, and automate solutions so the same incident never recurs. Rather than judging you on certifications and tool stacks, we'll observe you troubleshooting in real time, producing a genuine 5\-Whys that identifies one preventable root cause, and creating automations that withstand production conditions.
This is not an L2 "follow the runbook" position. In this capacity, you author the runbooks, architect the deployment from dev to staging to 10% to full rollout with soak periods and rollback triggers, and create the monitors that detect corner cases. You reject risky changes before execution. You distinguish infrastructure failures you own from application bugs Engineering owns, and you route permanent fixes to the appropriate team.
You'll operate at the engineering center of reliability, managing infrastructure projects, incident response with RCAs, and change requests accompanied by copy\-paste\-executable runbooks. If you've already managed a substantial SaaS product and want to apply that expertise across a fleet, join us. Bring expert\-level AWS knowledge, production\-ready coding skills, strict scope discipline, and daily, essential use of AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain operational excellence, please apply.
**What You Will Be Doing**
* Executing complex infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production\-quality automations, and monitoring updates
* Diagnosing production outages, deploying immediate fixes, and authoring root cause analyses with permanent fixes routed to the appropriate teams
* Designing, reviewing, and deploying changes in production, including assessing the safety of proposed changes prior to execution
**What You Won’t Be Doing**
* Spending time in Jira and continuous status meetings \- we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not just document issues
* Preserving legacy systems without end \- you'll have the mandate to implement significant improvements
* Waiting on bureaucratic approval processes \- you'll possess the authority to deploy immediate fixes during incidents
**Senior DevOps Engineer Key Responsibilities**
* Lead reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
**Basic Requirements**
* Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform \- other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
* Experience managing production infrastructure at a scale of hundreds of containers
* Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day\-to\-day administration operations
* Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS\-SQL)
* Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
