Senior Advocate / legal counsel

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Advocate with a minimum of 10 years of legal practice to manage and oversee all legal matters of the organization. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal guidance, ensure regulatory compliance, represent the company in legal proceedings, and safeguard the company’s interests across all operations. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Responsibilities • Provide expert legal advice on corporate, commercial, labour, and regulatory matters • Draft, review, and vet legal documents including contracts, agreements, notices, and policies • Represent the company in courts, tribunals, and before statutory authorities • Handle litigation, dispute resolution, and arbitration matters • Ensure compliance with applicable laws including labour laws, industrial regulations, and corporate laws • Liaise with external legal counsels, government authorities, and regulatory bodies • Manage legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them • Support HR and management in disciplinary actions, legal notices, and employee\-related cases • Stay updated on changes in laws and advise management on implications • Maintain proper documentation and legal records \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); LLM preferred • Minimum 10\+ years of active legal practice (preferably with corporate exposure) • Strong knowledge of Indian laws including labour laws, contract law, and compliance regulations • Proven experience in litigation and court representation • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with integrity • Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Preferred Skills • Experience working with manufacturing/export companies • Familiarity with statutory compliance frameworks (ESI, PF, Factories Act, etc.) • Ability to work independently and provide strategic legal direction
