Senior Accountant — VAT & Corporate Tax Compliance

**Job description:** Job Title: Senior Accountant — VAT \& Corporate Tax Compliance (Consultancy Team Lead) Location: Lahore Employment Type: Full\-time Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced and hands\-on Senior Accountant / VAT \& Corporate Tax Specialist to lead our compliance and accounting delivery function. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who can manage a portfolio of clients, lead a team, and act as a trusted advisor—while also supporting business development efforts through client interactions and technical consultations. Key Responsibilities1\. Client Accounting \& Bookkeeping Oversight * Manage and review accounting deliverables for multiple SME clients * Ensure accurate monthly closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting * Oversee general ledger, financial records, and documentation * Ensure compliance with  **IFRS and UAE accounting standards** 2\. VAT Compliance \& Advisory (FTA Expert) * Lead complete VAT lifecycle, including: * VAT Registration \& Deregistration * VAT Return preparation and filing * VAT calculations, adjustments, and reconciliations * FTA audit support and documentation * Ensure clients remain fully compliant with  **UAE VAT regulations and updates** * Provide VAT advisory support to clients across industries 3\. Corporate Tax (CT) Compliance * Manage end\-to\-end Corporate Tax processes, including: * CT Registration for new and existing entities * Corporate Tax return preparation and filing * Advisory on CT implementation, structuring, and impact * Stay updated with  **UAE Corporate Tax laws**  and ensure best practices across client portfolios 4\. Team Leadership \& Quality Control * Lead, mentor, and develop junior accountants and compliance staff * Review team output for  **accuracy, completeness, and timeliness** * Establish internal processes, workflows, and compliance checklists * Ensure adherence to deadlines and service\-level agreements (SLAs) 5\. Client Advisory \& Sales Support * Participate in client meetings to provide expert guidance on: * VAT and Corporate Tax obligations * Accounting and compliance requirements * Support the sales team by delivering  **clear, confident technical explanations**  to help close engagements 6\. Compliance \& Business Setup Support * Assist with regulatory compliance processes, including: * Trade license renewals * ESR / UBO filings (where applicable) * Free zone compliance requirements * Support accounting setup for newly formed companies Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Timely and accurate VAT \& CT filings with  **zero penalties** * High\-quality, audit\-ready financial records * Strong client satisfaction and retention * Effective team performance and delivery standards * Contribution to improved sales conversion through technical expertise Required Qualifications \& Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * **5–8\+ years of UAE accounting experience**  (consultancy background preferred) * Proven expertise in: * UAE VAT compliance and filing * Corporate Tax registration and returns * Managing multi\-client portfolios * Proficiency in accounting software such as: * QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, Tally, or similar * Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills **Preferred Qualifications** * ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent professional certification * Experience in accounting firms or compliance consultancies * Strong client\-facing advisory experience * Knowledge of UAE company formation and regulatory frameworks Core Competencies * Expert\-level knowledge of  **VAT \& Corporate Tax (UAE)** * Strong attention to detail and deadline management * Ability to manage teams and multiple client engagements * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * High level of professionalism, integrity, and ownership What We Offer * Competitive salary with strong growth potential * Leadership role in a rapidly growing consultancy * Exposure to diverse industries and client portfolios across the UAE * Clear career progression path to  **Compliance Manager / Head of Accounting Services** Work Location: In person
