Job Description
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: JAFZA, Dubai, UAE
About the role:
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Senior Accountant who can independently manage day-to-day accounting operations, complete monthly financial closings, prepare management reports, and report directly to the VP Finance. The candidate should have strong ERP experience and require minimal supervision.
Experience Required
- 6–8 years of accounting experience.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP system such as
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP, or Oracle
.
- Experience in trading or distribution companies is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA Inter, etc.) will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial schedules, and analyses for the VP Finance.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, customer receivables, supplier payables, inventory, and intercompany balances.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management accounts.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in the ERP system.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing required documentation.
- Assist with VAT accounting, reconciliations, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support ad hoc finance projects and reporting requirements.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with
Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle ERP systems
.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and month-end closing processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, reporting).
- Ability to prepare accurate management reports with minimal supervision.
