Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing and reputable construction company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their Finance team and work closely with the Director of Finance. This is a key role for someone who understands construction accounting—particularly within roadworks and asphalt operations—and can contribute both strategically and hands\-on across the department. **Key Responsibilities:** * Support the Director of Finance in overseeing day\-to\-day accounting operations across the business. * Manage and review job costing, ensuring accuracy across projects, budgets, and cost tracking. * Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and strong cash flow management. * Assist with financial reporting, month\-end close, and internal controls. * Provide coverage across the team (AP, AR, payroll, admin) during absences or peak periods. * Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate project setup, cost allocation, and financial tracking. * Contribute to process improvements and overall efficiency within the finance function. **Ideal Candidate Requirements:** * 5\+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or a related industry (roadworks, asphalt, heavy civil). * Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, AP, and AR processes. * Experience working in a hands\-on environment with exposure to full\-cycle accounting. * Proficiency in Acumatica is strongly preferred; experience with Bid2Win and/or B2W Track is an asset. * Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. * Positive, team\-oriented attitude with a willingness to step in wherever needed. **Why this Firm?** * Competitive salary in the range of $110,000–$125,000\. * Comprehensive benefits package. * RRSP matching program. * Stable, long\-tenured leadership team and strong company culture. * Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and make a meaningful impact. * Collaborative, supportive team environment.
