Senior Accountant

Teal Energi is partnered with a privately held energy company with U.S. onshore oil and gas operations that is seeking a Senior Accountant\-Internal Reporting to support corporate accounting, financial reporting, and management reporting activities. This role will be responsible for executing key accounting processes, supporting complex accounting matters, and contributing to special projects across the accounting function. The successful candidate will have a solid grasp of core accounting principles, the ability to manage responsibilities independently with minimal oversight, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. This position also plays a role in supporting and mentoring junior accounting staff while contributing to a positive and professional team environment. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and management reporting processes, including: * Accounting accruals * Account reconciliations * Review and analysis of revenues and expenditures * Journal entry preparation and review * Support preparation and review of financial and management reports * Assist with complex accounting matters and the application of relevant accounting guidance * Review accounting system processes and outputs to ensure accuracy and completeness * Manage assigned tasks in alignment with internal and external reporting deadlines * Collaborate with cross\-functional stakeholders on significant or complex accounting areas * Review work and provide guidance to junior accounting staff * Respond to information requests from corporate or parent\-level stakeholders * Demonstrate a thorough understanding of inputs, processes, and downstream impacts within assigned accounting areas * Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned **Required Skills \& Qualifications:** * Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts * Ability to research, interpret, and apply technical accounting guidance (including IFRS) * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel * Organized, detail\-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities **Education \& Experience:** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required * Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in a financial reporting role or with a national public accounting firm * Experience within the oil and gas or energy industry is a plus * Experience working in an ERP system preferred (energy\-focused systems a plus)
