This multi‑entity environment includes construction operations, equipment‑focused businesses, and technical support functions, providing a complex and interesting finance landscape with exposure to project‑based and capital‑intensive operations. **Your New Role** Reporting to the **Corporate Controller** , this newly created **Senior Accountant** position will play a key role within the Finance team, supporting full‑cycle accounting and financial reporting across multiple operating companies. This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced accounting professional who can work independently, review complex transactions, and help maintain strong internal controls within a multi‑company, project‑driven environment. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting month‑end and year‑end close, managing full‑cycle accounting activities across multiple entities * Preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments in accordance with ASPE and GAAP * Supporting year‑end review and audit requirements * Maintaining CAPEX and OPEX records, including fixed assets, capital and operating leases, and equipment costs * Supporting inventory accounting, including adjustments and physical counts * Performing intercompany reconciliations related to loans, cross‑charges, and invoicing * Preparing and reconciling HST filings and supporting regulatory and audit requirements * Monitoring project accounting, including budgets vs. actuals and variance investigation * Reviewing project labour, subcontractor costs, and expenses to ensure accurate coding and reporting * Supporting process improvements and strengthening internal controls * Assisting with the financial oversight of projects throughout their lifecycle * Providing guidance or review support to junior team members as required **What You’ll Need to Succeed** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * CPA designation completed or in progress (strongly preferred) * 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role * Strong hands‑on experience with month‑end close and financial reporting * CAPEX and OPEX experience * Background in project accounting and/or cost accounting * Experience in construction, contracting, manufacturing, or similar project‑based industries is an asset * Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) * Experience working with ERP / accounting systems * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities * Effective communication skills when working with operational and project stakeholders * Ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion **What You’ll Get in Return** * Competitive base salary in the $85,000–$90,000 range, plus discretionary bonus * Comprehensive benefits package including extended health and dental coverage * RRSP matching program * 2 weeks’ vacation plus a Christmas shutdown period * Standard hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility to work 8:00 am – 4:00 pm * Fully in‑office role based in Brampton * Strong emphasis on work‑life balance * Long‑term development opportunities through exposure to multiple operating companies and capital‑intensive, project‑based activities **What You Need to Do Now** If you meet all the requirements for this role, please apply quoting reference number: 1124573\.
