Job Description
Local private company is seeking a Senior Accountant to handle all accounting functions related to our real estate portfolio. We are looking for a hands\-on professional, who will supervise a small staff, and be expected to directly perform most of the duties of the position. We are a small, strong company that has been in business for over 30 years. **Senior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities** · Day\-to\-day accounting operations for our portfolio of real estate assets. · Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, budgets, and forecasts. · Manage the month\-end and year\-end close processes, including reconciliation and variance analysis. · Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper classification of income and expenses. Implement accounting functions including A/R, A/P, payroll, job costs, collections, bank recs. · Implement internal controls and financial policies to ensure accuracy and efficiency. · Prepare reports and forecasts for executive leadership and advise on strategy and long\-term planning. **Senior Accountant Education and Experience** · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. · 3\-5 years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 years in real estate accounting. **Skills** · Proficiency in Sage software. · Strong Excel skills required. · Ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment.
