Our mission is to provide an unparalleled luxury fishing experience that not only immerses our guests in the natural beauty of our surroundings but also instills a deep appreciation for fishing and the environment. **About The Role** The **Resort Chef** leads the culinary team and oversees all food and beverage program execution at the Nootka Sound and Newton Cove Resorts. Reporting to the Resort Manager, the role manages kitchen operations, staff performance, food quality, safety standards, and guest dining experience while ensuring efficient, high\-level meal production. **Key Responsibilities** * Oversee daily culinary operations, ensuring high\-quality food preparation, presentation, and consistency. * Lead, train, schedule, coach, and supervise kitchen staff; manage workflow and productivity. * Prepare menu items, set up stations, and complete food prep to support seamless service. * Manage dietary needs, allergies, last\-minute guest changes, and special meal requests. * Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and VIHA compliance, including cleaning records and labeling. * Complete inventories, purchase supplies, and monitor food cost efficiency and waste reduction. * Coordinate equipment maintenance and report deficiencies to the Resort Manager. * Ensure proper storage practices (FIFO), labeling, dating, and organization of all products. * Support seasonal opening/closing procedures and enforce company policies and safety protocols. * Enhance guest experience through dining room interaction and greeting guests during arrivals/departures. **Qualifications** ***Required*** * At least 2 years relevant kitchen leadership experience * Legally entitled to work in Canada * Computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel) * Food Safe Level 1 * WHMIS certification * Strong leadership, kitchen management, and communication skills **Preferred** * OFA1 (Occupational First Aid Level 1\) * Food Safe Level 2 * Red Seal certification, or equivalent **What We Expect From You** Every employee plays a key role in creating a professional, welcoming, and solution\-focused environment for our guests.
