Resident Engineer

**JOB TITLE \& JOB DESCRIPTION:** **RESIDENT ENGINEER** **John R Harris \& Partners** – Dubai are currently looking for a Resident Engineer with High\-rise project experience to join our growing supervision team to support recent project appointments in UAE. The ideal candidate shall be a senior professional with architectural / civil/structural engineering background with strong technical capabilities with a minimum of 15 years of work experience of which 10 years shall be within UAE. The candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills and shall have the ability to work and deliver projects in a collaborative and professional work environment. **KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Overall Project Management inclusive of managing client relations, day to day site activities, managing various project stake holders inclusive of consultant, main contractor and sub\-contractors and local authorities. * Manage the consultant’s supervision team. * Chairing weekly progress and technical meetings and documenting the meetings. * Monitoring and reviewing progress of project and quality of work as per the terms of the contract. * Reviewing contractor’s submittals including shop drawings, material submittal, pre\-qualification submittal, technical submittal, method statements, RFI’s etc. * Attendance or representation as appropriate at all project\-related meetings. * Liaising with local authorities and utility companies as necessary to obtain construction stage NOC’s and approvals and connections * Monitoring and reporting on the contractor’s activities on site with respect to technical and contractual compliance. * Adequately respond to all contractor’s letters, communications and claims in a timely manner as per terms of the contract. * Carrying out review and evaluation of contractor’s extension of time claims as per the terms of the contract. * Review and approval of as\-built drawings guarantees, warranties maintenance manuals, spare parts and close\-out reports **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** * Bachelor’s degree in architecture/civil/construction engineering (Masters/PMP are preferable). * Experience in delivery of high\-rise residential/hotel projects. * Certified engineer with UAE and/or GCC engineering membership. * Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations. * Knowledge in international and regional construction codes \& standards. * Excellent command of written and spoken English. * Commercial management experience. * Understanding of FIDIC contracts. * Experience in programming construction activities. * Experience in HSE and sustainability parameters and regulations.
