Job Summary:

The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse is responsible for coordinating and completing all pre-procedure assessments to ensure patients are medically cleared and properly prepared for their scheduled surgeries or procedures. This role focuses on conducting pre-admission testing, reviewing and verifying patient medical histories and medication reconciliation forms, identifying potential risk factors, and obtaining necessary medical clearances based on each patient’s condition. The PAT Nurse also provides comprehensive pre-procedure instructions and education to patients to ensure understanding and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Call patients prior to their scheduled procedures to conduct pre-admission interviews and assessments, including reviewing medical histories, medications, allergies, completing medication reconciliation, and filling out the PAT form.
• Identify and communicate any abnormal findings or risk factors to the physician or Anesthesia team.
• Request and follow up on required medical clearances based on patient health status and procedure type.
• Provide clear, thorough pre-procedure instructions and education to patients or families.
• Document all assessments, findings, and patient interactions accurately in the organization’s platforms (HST, Intergy, and CRM).
• Collaborate with various departments within the surgery center and with patients’ healthcare providers to ensure integrated, effective, and patient-centered communication and coordination of care.
• Maintain compliance with all organizational, regulatory, and safety standards.

Required Qualification \& Experience:

• Certified nurse
• English level B2+
